Four Winners Get Car Gifts in Unilever Rewards Promotion


(AllAfrica Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Four winners have emerged as car owners in Lagos and Ibadan, Oyo State legs of the just concluded Knorr and Royco Visibility driver which is aimed at rewarding trade partners who are strategic to the continued shelf presence and easy accessibility of the two products to shoppers.



The winners were presented with their prize winnings at Oke-Arin, Bodija and Gbagi markets in Lagos and Oyo states respectively.

In his address at the presentation ceremony in Lagos, Customer Marketing Director, Unilever Nigeria, Kalpesh Palmer, revealed that the offer was in recognition of the strategic roles that distributors and retailers play in the distribution chain and the shelf presence that the two brands enjoy, adding that a separate offer directed at consumers was also in the offing.


"Unilever Nigeria is a company that appreciates Nigeria and Nigerians, that is why we are constantly rewarding the loyalty that Nigerians have always extended to us. The offer today is directed at Retailers; however, there is another promotion which is directed at our numerous consumers." Palmer disclosed.

Speaking on the modalities of the promo, Customer Marketing Manager Foods, Olufolake Awe, explained that "The promo held in 60 markets in Lagos, South West, North East, North West, Middle Belt, North Central, South East and South South regions.

The retailers were required to purchase a minimum of 10 cartons of a combination of Royco and Knorr cubes weekly for 12 weeks, top two retailers with the highest purchase and display in the 6 regions won Brand new Hyundai i10 while one each was won by top retailer in the North East and North West regions. The promo is part of Unilever's efforts to reward loyal retailers for their continued patronage and loyalty" One of the winners, Mrs. Oyindamola Salam who spoke to journalists in Ibadan said she has been a long standing trade partner of Unilever adding that the brand new car was befitting reward for her long years of trading in Knorr and Royco products.

"I have been a Unilever trade partner for over 20 years and it has been a rewarding experience. The car gift is indeed a pleasant surprise and I remain grateful to Unilever. It is a befitting reward for my trading on the brands over the years." She stated.

Also commenting on the car winning, a trader in Gbagi Market, Mrs. Shola Akinyele said she has been retailing for Unilever for the past 9 years and was also happy to be a winner in the Knorr and Royco Visibility Drive.

The Prize presentation which was flagged off in Lagos also saw winners, Mama Chi Boy and Alhaja Olanrewaju going home with brand new Hyundai i10 cars. Others also went home with gifts such as 43-inch Flat screen Smart 3D full HD television sets, Camping mats and many other winning prizes.

At the presentation ceremony in Ibadan, the company's Field Sales Manager (Foods), Mr. Taofiq Ositade said the two winners were outstanding in their sales for the year and thereefore won the cars on merit.

Ositade hinted that the company has increased the cars to three this year because of the good feelers from across Ibadan markets, adding that Unilever products have become more than ever before the toast and delight of the populace not only in the Southwest geopolitical zone of the country but across the country and beyond as a whole.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ositade disclosed that Unilever had specifically earmarked a total of 13 cars for presentation to loyal customers across the country during the year as part of its corporate social responsibility with a view to appreciating their contribution to the growth of the organisation.

While congratulating the two winners from Oyo State, he noted with delight that Ibadan has remained a vibrant market for the assorted products from the Unilever group.

Ositade remarked that Unilever will continue to produce foodstuffs and culinaries that would make people feel and enjoy good lives.

Responding, the beneficiaries commended Unilever for the good gesture promising to continue to be good ambassadors of the company.
