Multinational Pharma Specialist Chooses MDSL's Smart TEM Enterprise; Puts trust in MDSL's global TEM solution for Fixed Line and Mobile Device Management

(M2 PressWIRE Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) London, New York, Paris, Gothenburg, Tokyo and Hong Kong - MDSL, the leading global Technology Lifecycle & Expense Management solutions provider announced today that a major biopharmaceutical specialist company, based in the USA, has chosen to deploy MDSL's Smart TEM Enterprise Telecom Expense Management (TEM) solution.

The organisation has contracted MDSL to deploy Smart TEM Enterprise as a Platinum level Managed & Business Process Outsourced (BPO) service, displacing the incumbent solution from Tangoe, to manage all its Fixed Line and Mobile services. This allows it to benefit from economies of scale, measure the extent of its spend and achieve significant cost savings.

The agreement was signed in late March 2014 for three years and covers both Fixed Line and Mobile services across North America and Europe, including the business' 22,000+ mobile devices world-wide. Negotiations were led on the MDSL side by Ben Mendoza, MDSL CEO and founder; Felix Lau, Director of Global TEM Services and Stephen Smith, Head of North American Sales.

Ben Mendoza said: "MDSL is delighted to have been selected and to have signed yet another prestigious, international TEM customer. This is further evidence that firms of this stature have revised their decision-making processes: they appreciate that these projects require a long-term partnership with a supplier, but in a market where many TEM providers seem to promise similar capabilities, they can only make their decisions based on real evidence that the chosen supplier has demonstrated a history of success - with proven delivery of sustained value for all the geographies in scope. MDSL is able to do exactly that." Work has already commenced on the initial data preparation phase of the programme, to consolidate records from the client's cost centres and ensure the proper data is collected before the implementation phase begins. The project will start in North America at the beginning of April before rolling out across Europe and Asia Pacific by the end of July 2014.

A critical factor in their choice of a new TEM provider was ease of use in the Procurement module: this was so essential that the client devised its own unique testing method to ensure their staff could use it as easily as MDSL claimed. MDSL's solution passed the test.

A further key issue was the flexibility of MDSL's solution in interfacing with its internal systems, primarily its SAP database but also its existing MDM solution from another vendor.

A final deciding influence in the decision-making process was MDSL's status as a certified AOTMP Efficiency First TEM provider. This certification ensures the chosen vendor can deliver the services promised.

Ben Mendoza continued: "Mobile Device Management (MDM) in general and Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) in particular have brought additional complexity to many of our clients. They now have to manage many thousands of additional mobile devices, which in turn has left them with the responsibility of, first, controlling the cost of those devices and, second, optimising the benefits they bring and measuring their impact on the business.

"MDSL has invested significantly in R&D over the past two years precisely in order to ensure our global TEM solutions are fully able to address these new market conditions and to assist multi-national companies globally meet the challenges they bring."
