Boeing Launches New MicroTAC Tactical Data Analytic Platform; Field deployment allows data-management capability anytime, anywhere(M2 PressWIRE Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ANNAPOLIS JUNCTION, Md. -- Boeing [NYSE: BA] has developed a new tactical data analytic suite -- called MicroTAC -- that provides an information advantage to the warfighter, even when network connectivity may be unavailable or unsuitable for the mission. While tactical data analysis usually is network-based and requires an Internet connection, a MicroTAC user can accept new data, such as from a flash drive, search and analyze it, and confirm predictive analytics while disconnected from networks. Running on a lightweight, battery-powered portable device similar to a laptop, MicroTAC can continuously accept data in the field and almost immediately provide an accurate picture of the unfolding information environment. "When warfighters bring MicroTAC into theater, they have a full suite of deployable analytic technologies at their fingertips to take in, analyze and disseminate information in near real-time, especially when communications are unreliable," said Jeff Brown, director of Boeing's Intelligence Systems Group. "This may also be important during missions when having a network connection could be detrimental or undesirable." Boeing will show the MicroTAC platform with live demonstrations at the Special Operations Forces Industry Conference, May 20-22 in Tampa, Fla. MicroTAC is fully integrated with Boeing's existing TAC software and is available to new and current TAC customers.
