Nepal : NEPAL to establish new company to build infrastructure for use in telecommunication industry [TendersInfo (India)]

(TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) In a bid to eliminate expensive duplication of efforts by phone companies and overcome disagreements over sharing resources, the government of Nepal is planning to set up a new company for the construction of infrastructure for use in the telecommunication industry.

As telecom firms were investing a lot of money in infrastructure forcing them to sacrifice the quality of service, the Nepal Telecommunication Authority (NTA) has proposed the idea.

The NTA said infrastructure gulps down nearly 60 percent of the outlay of telecom firms.

Secretary at the Ministry of Information and Communication, Suman Prasad Sharma, said : "We are currently discussing the possibility of establishing a separate company and have not reached any conclusion yet." (c) 2014 Euclid Infotech Pvt. Ltd. Provided by SyndiGate Media Inc. (Syndigate.info).
