Green Oak Diagnostics Unveils Unparalleled CT Scan with up to 70% Reduction in Radiation
HOUSTON --(Business Wire)--
ACR-accredited diagnostic imaging center, Green Oak Diagnostics has
introduced the city's first ultra-low dose Computed Axial Tomography
machine in the Houston area outside of the Medical Center, shifting the
paradigm in patient imaging.
Commonly referred to as CT or CAT scans, Computed Tomography Scans are
the standard physician's tool for locating and diagnosing abnormalities,
diseases and injuries within the human body. Houston's Green Oak
Diagnostics can now perform CT scans with radiation exposure reduced by
as much as 70% of a typical traditional CT machine, depending on the
part of the body.
"Fast, painless and non-invasive, this new technology allows us to
perform CT scans with radiation exposure reduced by unprecedented
levels," said Green Oak Diagnostics COO Gracie deLeon. "While we stay a
leader on the forefront of technology, we equally pride ourselves in
providing the most comfortable patient experience. And we hope to
leverage this competitive advantage to set a standard for best practices
in safe imaging," she added.
"This low dose CT technology produces the same high quality results
without image compromise, at a fraction of the radiation level. This
fact becomes even more important in light of studies published to the
American Archives of Internal Medicine reporting that as many as 29,000
cases of cancer could be directly correlated to repeated traditional CT
radiation exposure," says Dr. H. B. Spangler, Medical Director of Green
Oak Diagnostics. "We continue to help bring ongoing awareness to safe
imaging and setting new standards in the community."
