(Star Tribune (Minneapolis, MN) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) May 17--Burnsville residents will have two weeks to leave unwanted couches, refrigerators and other large items at the curb for pickup.

From June 8 to June 20, Certified Recycling will give Burnsville residents a discount on curbside pickup of bulky items, appliances and electronics.

Residents must arrange the pickup and payment with Certified Recycling at 952-894-1448.

Calls should be made by 2 p.m. the day before the resident's weekly garbage collection day, and residents should mention the Burnsville curbside collection to receive the reduced rates. Eagan Bridgeview is name for Cedar Grove park Eagan's City Council has chosen the name Bridgeview Park for the new park to developed in the Cedar Grove redevelopment area near Hwy. 13 and Cedar Avenue.

The council chose the name from three recommended by the city's Advisory Parks Commission. The other two were Onion Patch Park, suggested because of Eagan's history as a major onion producer, and Nicols Station Park, a historical reference to a flag station that opened in the 1860s on the Chicago, St. Paul, Minneapolis & Omaha Railroad.

Bridgeview Park is a reference to the old and new Cedar Avenue bridges, both of which have been important transportation links connecting the south and north metro areas.

The council chose the name at a work session last week; it will be formally approved at an upcoming council meeting. Choosing the name now allows the city time to order a sign and install it by August, when the new outlet mall being built by Paragon Outlet Partners opens. The new park will be south of the shopping complex.
