Reach the Beach Kicks Off Cycling Season for a Good Cause on May 17 in Oregon

WHAT:

Reach the Beach, the ideal personal challenge for the seasoned cyclist or group ride for friends and family of all ages-all for a great cause, will celebrate its 24th year. Event information, including registration, is available at ReachtheBeach.org.

 

Providing a little bit of something for everyone, Reach the Beach offers participants with four different start locations based on distance. Those interested in the 104-mile course will start in Portland, while riders interested in pedaling 80 miles will begin in Newberg. Amity will host the start for cyclists wishing to take advantage of the 55-mile route. The final starting point will be Grand Ronde, which features a 28-mile ride.

 
Produced by Better Series, the Oregon-based race event management company that brought Hood to Coast Relay to the masses, each course distance features beautiful routes, medical and mechanical support, and eight lunch and snack stops. Plus, all riders will be treated to a gourmet finish line feast and beach party at the award-winning Pelican Pub in Pacific City.

CHARITY:

The official charity partner of Reach the Beach is the American Lung Association, whose mission is to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease. Reach the Beach has successfully raised more than $2.5 million in the past five years for the charity.
