Amazon set to bow three new kids shows for Prime customers [The Seattle Times :: ](Seattle Times (WA) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) May 15--Amazon Studios, which is creating original programming for the online retail giant's streaming media service, will launch three kids shows in the coming weeks. The company has been racing to add its own exclusive content for its Netflix-like Prime Instant Video service, including the political comedy "Alpha House," which was created by "Doonesbury" cartoonist Garry Trudeau and stars John Goodman. The three new shows, which were greenlit a year ago, will be Amazon's first original programs made for kids. "Tumble Leaf," an animated show for preschoolers, will be the first to debut on May 23. "Creative Galaxy," another animated show for preschoolers, which features the voices of "Mary Tyler Moore" show star Cloris Leachman and "The Daily Show" correspondents Samantha Bee and Jason Jones, premieres June 27. The and live-action series "Annedroids," about about a young genius, her human friends, and her android assistants, aimed at 4- to 7-year-olds, debuts July 25. The first six episodes of each show will be available this summer, with additional episodes coming later in the year. The programs will only be available to customers who have signed up for Amazon's $99 a year Prime service, which also includes two-day shipping at no extra charge on more than 20 million items from the retail site.
