Consol Energy names new CEO [Beaver County Times, Pa. :: ]

(Beaver County Times (PA) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) May 08--Consol Energy on Wednesday named new CEO Nicholas J. DeIuliis, who replaces former CEO J. Brett Harvey.

DeIuliis was also elected to the company's board of directors, while Harvey will assume the position of executive chairman.

"(DeIuliis) is well-prepared to lead CONSOL Energy into a very exciting chapter in our 150-year history, having already served as a critical member of the management team that skillfully steered the company through a transformative and important period of time," Harvey said. "(His) vision, values and commitment to CONSOL Energy will be a strong asset to our shareholders, employees, customers and community partners moving forward." DeIuliis has been president of Consol Energy since 2011, holding positions from chief operating officer to senior vice president of strategic planning. He also was formerly president and chief executive officer of CNX Gas Corp.

Consol recently signed a two-year deal to drill on 9,200 acres of land at Pittsburgh International Airport. The deal has already earned the Allegheny County Airport Authority $50 million in the form of a signing bonus, and will pay 18 percent royalties over the length of the deal. Company officials have also said in the past they expect to invest more than $1 billion into the region over the life of the project.
