(Aiken Standard (SC) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) May 06--According to reports provided by the Aiken Department of Public Safety: A 17-year-old Aiken man was detained for shoplifting and minor in possession of beer on Friday after he tried to shoplift four cases of beer and a bag of chips from a store on Richland Avenue.



A 15-year-old student was detained for simple possession of marijuana on Friday after officers found marijuana in a pencil box in his book bag.

A 57-year-old Wagener man was detained for DUI on Friday after being pulled over on Richland Avenue when someone reported a possible impaired driver. The man smelled of alcohol and exhibited signs of intoxication. He was taken into custody after failing multiple field sobriety tests.


A Gloverville woman was detained for DUI on Saturday after officers at a traffic checkpoint noticed she was exhibiting signs of intoxication. She was taken into custody after failing multiple field sobriety tests.

A 60-year-old Aiken man was detained for DUI on Sunday after he backed into a vehicle in a parking lot on Richland Avenue. The man smelled of alcohol and was taken into custody after failing multiple field sobriety tests.

A 56-year-old Aiken man was detained for disorderly conduct on Saturday after he was found passed out on the curb of Richland Avenue with his legs still in the roadway.

An unknown woman shoplifted about $450 in merchandise from a store on Laurens Street on Thursday.

A 22-year-old Allendale man was detained for shoplifting on Saturday after he tried to take a hat from a store in Aiken Mall without paying. The man also had active arrest warrants for Aiken and Barnwell counties.

Two vehicle break-ins were reported at a home on Hartwell Drive on Friday. Change, headphones and a flashlight were reported missing.

An additional vehicle break-in was reported on Marlboro Street on Monday. A bag and a wallet were reported missing.

A vehicle was reported stolen from Wildwood Road in Aiken on Friday.

According to reports provided by the Aiken County Sheriff's Office: A camper was reported stolen from a home on Old 96 Indian Trail in Batesburg on Sunday.

A burglary was reported at a home on Stone Drive in Aiken on Sunday. The owner reported electronics missing.

Vehicle break-ins were reported on Tall John Lane in Aiken, Willow Lane in North Augusta, Old Plantation Road in North Augusta and Nokesville Circle in Aiken.
