CareerBliss Announces Happiest Jobs for the Class of 2014

CareerBliss, a career community™ with more than three million available jobs, hundreds of thousands of job reviews and millions of salaries, today released new data for the CareerBliss Happiest Jobs for the Class of 2014. CareerBliss analyzed more than 25,000 independent company reviews to determine which jobs are giving young professionals the most career-related happiness. CareerBliss data finds that overwhelmingly, jobs associated with the STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) continue to set the bar for happiness, especially those in software development. After analyzing job data for years, CareerBliss co-founder Heidi Golledge is a big believer in STEM education as well as its cousin, STEAM, which includes Art along with STEM to give students a well-rounded education as well as happier and more fulfilling career choices. Ranking first on the 2014 list are java developers, programmers who use a specific language associated with client-server web applications. Following java developers are embedded software engineers, who help program the embedded software in the electronics and other devices. In third place are young professionals who specialize in .NET development, a programming language specific to Microsoft (News - Alert).

Furthermore, BlissScores reveal that the key to happiness among many of the happiest jobs for this group reside in such metrics as "Work Setting", "Support You Get" and "Growth Opportunities".

As a whole, jobs in the technology sector dominated the CareerBliss Happiest Jobs for the Class of 2014.

Methodology:

CareerBliss data evaluates the key factors that affect work happiness including: the person one works for, the people one works with, the support and rewards one receives, the growth opportunities available to a person, the company culture and the way one works and handles their daily tasks.
