TIA Applauds Chairman Wheeler and FCC for Advancing 3.5 GHz Band Service Rules

(Targeted News Service Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ARLINGTON, Va., April 23 -- The Telecommunications Industry Association issued the following news release: The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), the leading association representing the manufacturers and suppliers of high-tech communications networks, today applauded the FCC for advancing service rules for the 3.5 GHz band.

"Today's action by the FCC opens the door for new small cell technologies that will be critical to addressing the spectrum crunch, said TIA President Grant Seiffert. "By opening additional spectrum for mobile broadband use while encouraging these technologies, today's action is a win for American consumers, technology companies, and for maintaining U.S. leadership in innovation." Seiffert continued, "The 3.5 GHz band is generally available around the world, and therefore holds the potential for global harmonization. Such harmonization could allow the ICT industry to leverage economies of scale, leading to lower device costs and more rapid deployment of new small cell technologies in the U.S. and elsewhere. Chairman Wheeler and his fellow commissioners are to be congratulated for today's important action." TNS 24HariCha-140424-30FurigayJane-4712866 30FurigayJane (c) 2014 Targeted News Service
