Malaysia : ALTEL COMMUNICATIONS to source 4G LTE network equipment from HUAWEI TECHNOLOGIES [TendersInfo (India)]


(TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Malaysian telecom services provider Altel Communications is to source 4G LTE network equipment from Huawei Technologies. Altel Communications will be launching 4G network together with its associate Celcom Axiata.



Chinese telecom network vendor Huawei will be offering wireless, core, transport and billing services to Altel, along with business consultation service for supporting Altel in developing new competitive mobile services including Mobile Virtual Network.

Altel CEO Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Yaacob said, We will be building our own radio network and leverage on Celcom s widest and fastest network in Malaysia as well as continuously invest over the next five years.


Altel is one among eight firms to receive the LTE 2600MHz spectrum from the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission for offering 4G services. Altel presently has nearly 20,000 registered subscribers with 10 exclusive stores in the Klang Valley, Johor, Penang and Kedah and 2,500 authorized dealers and 32 distributors across the country.
