The American Council for Technology and Industry Advisory Council (ACT-IAC) will host the 8th Annual Small Business Conference on April 24, 2014 at the Washington Hilton in Washington, D.C. The one-day education and training event will feature more than 100 government agency speakers alongside industry leaders to discuss the impact of the latest administration's policies, challenges and opportunities for small businesses in government contracting.

Small Business Smackdown III - Small Business influencers from DHS, SBA, DHA and GSA will participate in an open and lively discussion on creating practical solutions for optimizing existing roles/relationships with government entities. Confirmed speakers include: Sandra Broadnax, NGA; Tarrazzia Martin, HUD; Kevin Boshears, DHS; Eugene Cornelius, SBA and Kay Ely, GSA with provocateurs Chris Dorobek (GovLoop) and Kimberly Hayes (The Ambit Group).

 

Matchmaking Session - This collaborative session - the largest of its kind in the nation - will pair small businesses with prime contractors and government agency officials from DIA, NASA, NGA, ARMY, DHS, CFPB, FAA, DOI and more to build relationships and provide crucial insights into insertion into the government ecosystem. Industry representatives include CACI, CenturyLink, Dell, HP, IBM (News - Alert), Northrup Grumman, SAIC, SERCO and UNISYS.

 

Federal Workshops - Government agencies including NSA, DIA, USDA, NASA, DOI, DHS and VA will present and discuss specific objectives they are looking to accomplish and how small business can help achieve these goals.

 

Small Business Advocacy Award - This inaugural award will acknowledge stakeholders who have made a significant impact in promoting the growth and development of small businesses.
