Arbor Networks' Darren Anstee to Speak on Intelligent Incident Response at InfoSecurity Europe 2014
BURLINGTON, Mass. --(Business Wire)--
Arbor
Networks, Inc., a leading provider of DDoS and advanced threat
protection solutions for enterprise and service provider networks,
announced today that Darren Anstee, director of solutions architects for
Arbor Networks (News - Alert), will be speaking at InfoSecurity Europe 2014 on
intelligent incident response and the need for actionable threat
intelligence for proactive detection and mitigation. Arbor Networks is
also sponsoring InfoSecurity Europe, showcasing the Pravail®
portfolio, including the recently unveiled Pravail
Security Analytics, at Stand G90 throughout the week.
According to a recently-released global survey of CISOs and senior IT
executives that was sponsored by Arbor and conducted by the Economist
Intelligence Unit, only 17 percent of business leaders feel fully
prepared for an incident. The report, titled Cyber
Incident Response: Are business leaders ready?, also found that 41
percent of business leaders noted that a better understanding of
potential threats would help them feel more prepared to respond to those
threats. Given today's rapidly changing threat landscape actionable
intelligence is a must-have for organizations that are grappling with
proper visibility and threat context.
"Intelligent incident response: Protecting your organization" Obfuscation
techniques, services and mechanisms for evading even the latest security
solutions are being used more frequently, making signature-based,
behavioral and sandbox detection less and less effective. More scalable
and reliable ways of detecting, and hopefully preventing, potential
compromises are needed. Intelligence-based incident response is the way
forward. For incident response teams, detection is just the start;
analysis, containment and remediation come next. To do these things
effectively, a pervasive view of network activity is needed. This view
needs to be dynamic in nature, allowing analysts to drill-down from a
session-based view into detailed per-session information. Once an
incident has been fully understood, an integrated mechanism to
surgically mitigate any ongoing threat is required. Fundamentally, we
need workflows that allow IR teams to work as rapidly and effectively as
possible. This talk will focus on the tools and technologies needed to
achieve the above.
Attend this technical presentation, led by Darren Anstee, director of
solutions architects, to:
-
Discover how current threats evade security solutions
-
Understand how actionable threat intelligence information can help us
to detect/prevent compromise
-
Determine how technologies, such as Flow and high-speed packet
analysis can help IR teams to work more effectively
