Yemen to partake in Regional Cyber Security Summit in Oman [Yemen News Agency]


(Yemen News Agency Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) SANA'A, April 19 (Saba)- Yemen is to partake in the 3rd Annual Regional Cyber Security Summit hosted by the Sultanate of Oman on Apirl 20th -21st.

The 3rd Annual Regional Cyber Security Summit is organized by Oman National CERT (OCERT) in cooperation with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), IMPACT and Naseba at Al Bustan Palace, Oman.

Head of the National Centre for Information, head of the participating delegation Dr. Yahya al-Riui, said to Saba upon departing Sana'a on Saturday that Yemen's participation in the summit came in response to the invitation extended to him by Head of the Information Technology Authority in Oman in order to benefit from the Arab, regional and international experiences in the field of cyber security and information security as a prelude for the establishment of the National Center for Computer Security (OCERT) in Yemen as a necessity imposed by the successive developments.



The Regional Cyber security Summit in 2014 focuses on the Critical National Information Infrastructure protection and aims at connecting public, private and academic sectors with the main purpose of providing an appropriate platform for up to 200 senior ICT and cyber security officials from the MENA region to discuss, formulate strategic directions and plans to tackle emerging threats to the global and regional CNI sector.
