Greenberg Traurig's Danielle N. Garno Named Chair-Elect of the Southeastern Region Board of Directors of the Children's Home Society of Florida

(PR Web Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) MIAMI (PRWEB) April 18, 2014 Danielle N. Garno, a shareholder with the White Collar Criminal Defense Practice Group at the Miami office of international law firm Greenberg Traurig, has been named Chair-Elect of the Southeastern Board of Directors of Children's Home Society of Florida. In this role, Garno will work with fellow board members to support the organization by planning events and raising awareness and money for the nonprofit organization. She will become Chairman on July 1 and will serve a one-year term, which the board can vote to extend for a second year.

Children's Home Society of Florida works to break the cycle of abuse, heal children in crisis by providing shelter and counseling, and create and strengthen families in the community. The organization also advocates for funding and legislation for child welfare services.

"Having served this wonderful organization and the children and families it supports during the past four years, I am grateful for the opportunity to take a more active leadership role in providing much-needed assistance and serving as a voice for some of the most vulnerable members of our society who cannot speak for themselves," Garno said.

At Greenberg Traurig, Garno focuses her law practice on complex civil litigation with an emphasis on white collar defense and fraud actions. Her white collar practice includes defense of corporations against federal and state indictments, as well as internal investigations and negotiations with various federal and state agencies. Her practice also includes entertainment litigation, including copyright, trademark, and general entertainment and business disputes, as well as issues faced by the fashion community such as trademark counterfeiting and business litigation.
