China Central TV Station Subsidiary Selects HP Autonomy for Broadcast Monitoring

(ENP Newswire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ENP Newswire - 18 April 2014 Release date- 17042014 - PALO ALTO, Calif.- HP Autonomy today announced that China-based Future Advertising Co Ltd. (Future Ads) has selected HP Broadcast Monitoring as a key asset in managing and growing client relationships, through greatly improved identification and analysis of sponsor advertising placements.

Future Ads is a subsidiary company of China Central TV Station (CCTV) and is the exclusive ad seller for CCTV-5, the biggest sports broadcaster in China. To provide sponsors with a better understanding of the ROI of their advertising budgets, Future Ads analyzes the placement and effectiveness of their sponsor's ads during sporting events. The company used to rely on a manual, labor-intensive approach to monitor these events and report the frequency and length of time the ads are viewable. This approach was expensive, error-prone and time consuming.

Future Ads will use HP Broadcast Monitoring to automatically detect when sponsor logos appear on a broadcast and for how long. Powered by HP IDOL, HP Autonomy's unique image recognition and pattern-matching platform, HP Broadcast Monitoring will recognize images as they appear on sports telecasts, and will present this information in easy-to-use, interactive dashboards.

With these capabilities Future Ads and their clients can better assess the effectiveness of media placements, and understand how factors like type of sport, time of broadcast, and event venue impact sponsor logo placement and impact. By gaining a better understanding of these factors and their overall spend, Future Ads and their clients can optimize advertising spend for maximum results going forward.

'At Future Ads, our mission is to help our sponsors optimize budget to get the most out of their advertising spend,' said Yin, Tie Gang, Vice President at Future Ads. 'We chose to partner with HP Autonomy for its powerful technology and proven service capability. We'll now be better able to unlock insights into what is and isn't working, and accelerate our ability to gain such intelligence.' 'We are proud to be working with Future Ads, a leading advertisement company in the one of the world's most important advertising markets,' said Rohit de Souza, general manager, Information Analytics, HP Autonomy. 'Our next-generation broadcast monitoring and logo detection technologies together with our robust service offerings will help Future Ads deliver truly differentiated services to their sponsors.'
