O2 has charted strategy to make further expansion of its super-fast mobile broadband network coverage via an infrastructure upgrading scheme. The company hopes to upgrade about 25% of its masts across the 2G and 3G networks by the end of this year. Besides, the 3G will cover over 200 new areas throughout the country, and this will facilitate to provide the mobile broadband facility to a growing number of UK people. The Chief Operating Officer of Telefonica UK - Derek McManus has stated that the company has commenced "the fastest network roll-out in the history of the company" after the launch of 4G services in summer. He revealed, "This year we re continuing that roll-out and concurrently modernising our 2G and 3G networks." Mr. McManus has stated that the development of a grand network is more than providing only speedy services to people, with accessibility to the services. He further said, "It s vital that we also bring seamless coverage to people that have never had it before." Mr. McManus has stated that the firm is making a daily investment of £1.5 million in its network to deliver flawless connectivity to the subscribers of the 2G, 3G, 4G and Wi-Fi networks.
