Russian Federation : MTS endows USD 20 million in upgrade of its 3G NETWORK [TendersInfo (India)]


(TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) About USD 20 million has been endowed by Russian mobile operator MTS in the upgrade of its 3G network since the beginning of the year.

Almost 34% of customers now have 3G phones, and it is anticipated that the LTE penetration in data services is to reach 26 percent by 2016.

It is decided bt MTS to split up its frequencies for UMTS 2100 into three bands, for the independent use of each band in order to raise the speed from 42 Mbps to 63 Mbps.



The solution has already been tested on over 2,000 base stations of the operator in 80 regions throughout the country.
