BeyondTrust Brings Business Intelligence to the Security Operations Center with Release of BeyondInsight 5.1

BeyondTrust^®, the security industry's only provider of Context-Aware Security Intelligence, today announced significant updates to BeyondInsight^™, the company's IT risk management platform that unifies two foundational security methodologies: Privileged Account Management and Vulnerability Management. By unifying BeyondTrust privileged account management and vulnerability management solutions, BeyondInsight provides IT and security teams a single, contextual lens through which to view and address user and asset risk.

BeyondInsight 5.1 provides organizations with the increased visibility needed to make smarter decisions and reduce risk to assets and users for vulnerability and privileged account management. Among the latest updates is the availability of a new QualysGuard Cloud Connector which allows users to seamlessly import QualysGuard vulnerability data, in addition to importing flat files from various vulnerability management solutions including Qualys (News - Alert), Tenable, and Rapid 7. BeyondInsight's reporting and analytics engine can present all of these vendors alongside, or independently of, data from BeyondTrust's own Retina CS Enterprise Vulnerability Management capabilities, which operate within the BeyondInsight platform.

BeyondInsight 5.1 also provides several additional new features that add business context to security exposures and make it easy to understand, prioritize and communicate risk within the organization including:

• Vulnerability Audit Viewer: BeyondInsight includes access to the Retina CS Enterprise Vulnerability Management database, a vast library of constantly updated vulnerability audits. Each audit details a specific vulnerability leveraged by the solution during asset profiling and Retina vulnerability assessments. The new Audit Viewer enables any user to search and review all vulnerability audits and mitigation procedures - whether the vulnerability has been identified in their environment or not.
• Custom Vulnrability Alerts: Users can now create Smart Rules to trigger custom, targeted email alerts of new or updated Vulnerability Audits. Alerts can highlight vulnerabilities by platform, technology, application, severity, and other characteristics. For instance, the capability could be used to alert Oracle (News - Alert) DBAs of any new or updated Oracle database vulnerabilities. Asset owners can therefore be notified of vulnerabilities even before assessments occur.
• Exploit Availability Filter: BeyondInsight users can now filter vulnerabilities and asset smart groups to isolate those currently targeted by known, active exploits, enabling them to further prioritize remediation efforts.
• Asset Profile Data: The BeyondInsight console interface now enumerates users, services, and permissions for each detected system in a network environment. This enables security and IT operations teams to easily identify rogue accounts and misappropriated privileges posing security risks.

• Remediation Reports now includes operating system parameters, making it easy to allocate directives for patching and configuration updates to operating system owners.
• Vulnerability by Business Unit Reports now include enhanced graphics and additional filtering capabilities to communicate risk by business unit.
• Combined Executive Dashboard and Executive Environment Summary Reports now summarize vulnerabilities by several logical groupings such as business unit, location, and other contextual classifications.
• Vulnerability Delta Reports have been upgraded to include exploit information to assist with remediation prioritization based on exploit availability.
