Peck brings with him to HA&W years of tax consulting experience. He assists clients with services ranging from international tax matters such as transfer pricing, tax treaties and foreign tax credit/withholding to transactional tax and renewable energy credits. In 2009 he enabled a paper manufacturing client to obtain cash payments of over $140 million from the IRS for a refundable alternative fuel mixture excise tax credit. At HA&W, David will serve clients across industries with the Tax Research and Project Group on various tax topics, including international, domestic, corporate, partnership, M&A and IRS matters. Prior to joining HA&W, Peck served as a senior attorney in the IRS Office of Chief Counsel and as an assistant U.S. attorney in the U.S. Attorney's Office's Criminal Fraud Division. Peck also spent several years at KPMG. "David has over 30 years of experience handing complex tax matters," said Richard Kopelman, CEO and managing partner at HA&W. David earned his Bachelor of Arts in English from Carleton College and a Masters in English from Indiana University before receiving his J.D. and Master of Law degree in Taxation from Chicago-Kent College of Law.
