Macon-Bibb County, Ga. Selects New World Systems' Public Safety Software to Increase Efficiency for Newly-Consolidated Public Safety Agency

(GlobeNewswire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) TROY, Mich., April 15, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The recently merged government of Macon-Bibb County, Georgia, has selected New World Systems to replace an aging, fragmented public safety system. As of January 1, 2014, Macon Police Officers officially became Bibb County Sheriff's Deputies, and the City and County Public Safety agencies merged. To accommodate their expanding information needs and better serve the public, Macon-Bibb County signed a contract to license New World's suite of Aegis™ Public Safety Software.

"We need to have one cohesive system that will follow a call from creation at the 911 Center through to the arrest and incarceration of a suspect as efficiently as possible, without missing a step," said Bibb County Sheriff David Davis. "In addition to offering flexible and integrated software, New World is a company that understands our unique situation and will support us as two public safety agencies become one." New World is providing Macon-Bibb County with integrated Aegis Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), Law Enforcement Records Management, Fire Records Management, Mobile Computing for both Police and Fire, Corrections Management, and Decision Support software. Built on the latest Microsoft technology, the software offers a seamless flow of information between applications that will tie information together for the agency's departments. This will allow each department to make connections between criminals, property and activity, and assist in locating suspects and solving cases. The single software suite will make the entire agency more efficient and offer more robust property and evidence management tools.

New World's reporting capabilities and Decision Support and Dashboards solution will help the Sheriff's Department, 911 Center and Jail easily retrieve information to evaluate operations and perform response time and crime analysis. New World's Mobile Computing will empower deputies with access to information from the field, and Field-Based Reporting will help save time and eliminate redundant data entry. The new Corrections software will help the County safely manage the complexities of its 966-bed jail facility.

"We have yet to realize what we'll be capable of as far as being able to query information throughout the agency," said Keith Moffett, 911 Director. "There could be connections between police and fire or between individuals and stolen property, and we'll be able to recognize them right away with New World's suite of software." Macon-Bibb County is also implementing New World's Logos.NET™ Public Administration Software Solution. Officials are looking forward to working with a single software provider for all of the consolidated government's public safety and administration needs.

Trusted by more than 1,000 public sector organizations nationwide, New World Systems designs, develops, markets, supports and implements the integrated Aegis™ Suite of Public Safety Solutions for Law Enforcement, Fire and EMS and Logos.NET™ Public Administration Suite for local governments.
