South Africa,United States : AVIAT NETWORKS and UBUNTU TECHNOLOGIES form joint venture in SOUTH AFRICA [TendersInfo (India)]


(TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Aviat Networks Inc declared that it has inked a deal with Ubuntu Technologies to form a co-branded telecom solutions provider Aviat-Ubuntu (Proprietary) Ltd in South Africa.

Both the companies has established a joint venture in an effort to serve public companies and state-owned enterprises as well as help telecom operators evolve their infrastructure toward next-generation mobile broadband and enterprise services.



It is stated that Aviat-Ubuntu will focus on providing microwave networking solutions using products from the Aviat portfolio such as the new Aviat CTR 8540 microwave router with integrated IP/MPLS capabilities.

Michael Pangia, president and CEO, Aviat Networks said, Drawing on Ubuntu's knowledge of the South Africa market and Aviat's longstanding experience in microwave backhaul and general telecoms industries, our combined strength will allow us to address the emerging enterprise services opportunity from Johannesburg to Cape Town and all points between. And with Aviat-Ubuntu's BEE qualifications the volume of proposal work with state-owned companies and all four large South African mobile operators will be maximized.

By joining forces, our two companies will be able to compete aggressively in the telecommunications sector and will be able to expand our client base significantly.
