Comex 2014 all set to dazzle gadget lovers [Times of Oman]


(Times of Oman Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Muscat: Leading national and international companies will start offering a wide range of gadgets and services tomorrow at Oman's leading IT and Telecom Show — Comex 2014, which will run at the Oman International Exhibition Centre until April 11.



The timings for Comex Business are 10am to 9pm from April 7 to April 10, and 4:30pm to 9pm on April 11. The timings for Comex Shopper are 10am to 10pm from April 7 to April 10, and 4:30pm to 10:30pm on April 11.

Those interested in latest models of smart phones should check out the latest offerings such as HTC 8, Samsung, Huawei and Apple smartphones. The visitors will have the opportunity to buy a tab with 3G and calling options from Sony, Swift. Gadget lovers can also buy the G-Smart phone brands at Comex- the Roma R2 and Fondi iPad Wifi Models S701 and S901.


Laptops from HP, Acer, Dell, Lenovo, Asus, and Toshiba will be on display at the Techlink stall alongside external hard drives from Toshiba, Western digital, Samsung and Seagate.

Here is a snap shot of some products and services on offer at this year's expo: Nawras will continue Oman's first ever Smartphone Festival, based on the new Nawras Shahry postpaid plans, prepaid data bundles and the most advanced smartphones.  Customers who buy one of the new Shahry postpaid packs, along with a smartphone, will get every third month's subscription free. Prepaid customers who buy a new smartphone will benefit from 25 per cent additional data for two years with speedy 4G plans.

As part of a recent partnership agreement between Nawras and Bank Muscat, Nawras postpaid customers can get a new smartphone with zero down-payment and zero per cent interest when paying with a Bank Muscat credit card. Customers will also find the New Nawras Shahry Packs up for grabs at Comex 2014 highly appealing.

SenseGiz Technologies will be bringing in two technologies - SenseGiz FIND, a Bluetooth based tag which can be used to find lost or misplaced items like keys, bags, pets, phones etc and SenseGiz STAR, a wearable electronic product that triggers automatic alarms on others' phones if you have a crash, fall, or any other emergency.

SoftTech Engineers will be displaying software products that include Opticon Galaxy, AutoDCR, PWIMS, CreoLex and BIM services.

Xtend Technologies will be offering the Xtend Voice Logger, an advanced voice recording solution and the Xtend IVR which optimizes call operations and delivers effective customer service in the client's organisation.

Matrix Comsec's products and services include an Office-in-a-Box Solution, SOHO IP-PBX with Integrated GSM/3G, Mobile Softphone for Android/iOS, Branch Office Gateways and GSM Gateways.

Sisrb Technologies will be showcasing its brand SMSCountry, which provides Enterprise Mobility Solutions. This Enterprise SMS service is able to perform bulk SMS sending to large number of people within a short time.

Forefront Technologies will demonstrate a range of Document Scanners, Planetary Book Scanners, Capture and Arabic OCR Software along with a range of Storage Solutions.  The New Fujitsu fi-7000 workgroup scanners and the ScanSnap iX500 and SV600 desktop scanners will also be displayed. Visitors can also buy Bookeye A2 Overhead Color Book Scanner for gentle digitization of valuable books. NovoVerus, the advanced Optical Character Recognition (OCR) with Global Language Support including Arabic language from NovoDynamics, will be demonstrated as well.
