ASG Software Solutions Unveils Updates to ASG-Digital Archive for Media Industry at NABLAS VEGAS --(Business Wire)-- ASG Software Solutions today announced new updates to its flagship archiving solution ASG-Digital Archive (ADA), including instant ingest of linear tape file system (LTFS) media for improved storage and organization of data, archiving to Amazon S3 and EMC (News - Alert) Atmos for more efficient cloud storage, and integration with Primestream FORK 4.6 for more seamless media asset management. Instant LTFS Media Ingest - Instant ingest of LTFS media to the archive enables customers to simply add LTFS media provided by subcontractors or partners to their central archive powered by ASG-Digital Archive in just two clicks. The first adds the tape media to the tape library and the second instructs ADA to scan the LTFS media content for free storage space and add the files to the archive database. This saves users a lot of time and effort by eliminating the need to extract tape content to disk just to archive it to tape again, resulting in significantly improved storage and organization of data and metadata. Cloud-Based Archiving - With growing requests from small and large post-production companies to archive part of their data to the cloud, ASG has upgraded its integration with EMC Atmos for medium and large companies looking to implement private cloud storage. And, to further fulfill data archiving needs in the cloud, ASG has also added support for Amazon S3 cloud storage (via the S3 REST API) for small and medium volumes. With this integration, ADA is able to provide several complementary scenarios for disaster recovery in the cloud, making it an extremely accessible solution for archive repositories. Media Asset Management - To achieve more seamless media asset management, ASG has integrated ASG-Digital Archive with the latest version of Primestream's flagship suite FORK Production. The new version of the ADA plugin for FORK leverages new capability provided by FORK Drones© to offer more intimate and scalable integration between the two solutions to achieve a more complete, automated management framework for media companies.
