Software-Defined Networks to Take Center Stage at 'TIA 2014: Network of the Future'


(Targeted News Service Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ARLINGTON, Va., April 3 -- The Telecommunications Industry Association issued the following news release: Software-defined networks (SDN) will be a major focus at TIA 2014: the Network of the Future, held June 3-5 in Dallas, Texas. The conference - presented by the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), the leading association representing the manufacturers and suppliers of high-tech communications networks - will offer an in-depth and interactive look at this transformative force which is reshaping the entire networking and telecommunications landscape.



TIA today announced the emphasis being placed on SDN during the Network of the Future Conference: * TIA will devote one of three conference educational tracks to "Software-Defined Everything." Software defined networks (SDN) and network functions virtualization (NFV) are seen as disruptive, transformative technologies that are revolutionizing the ICT industry. During this one-day track, ICT executives will address the dynamics of this trend, the latest developments on SDN in wireless/mobile, cybersecurity concerns, the transition to software-defined data centers and more.

* TIA will host a day-long SDN 101 Workshop and Certification on Monday, June 2. Presented by Tallac, the workshop will teach basic SDN concepts and definitions, as well as discuss SDN technologies and major players that are revolutionizing the ICT industry. The highly interactive course will cover: SDN Background; SDN Definition; SDN Players; Use Cases & Details; SDN Neighbors & Critics; SDN Sample Applications & Review. Participants in this program will receive an SDN 101 Course Certificate.
