Room to Read Appoints New New Board Members [Food and Beverage Close - Up]


(Food and Beverage Close - Up Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Susan Wojcicki, CEO of YouTube, has been elected as the newest member of Room to Read's Board of Directors, it was announced by John Wood, founder and Erin Ganju, CEO and co-founder of Room to Read.



According to a release, Craig Bruya, a member of the Board of Directors since 2008 will assume the role of Board Chair as Tim Koogle and John Wood complete their 2-year terms as board co- chairs. Wood and Koogle will remain members of the Board and Wood will continue his duties as Founder of Room to Read.

"The impact of educating children-both girls and boys-in the developing world is extraordinary," said Wojcicki, "I've admired Room to Read for many years and am excited to join the board of this incredible organization that's truly changing the world one book, one school, and one child at a time." Room to Read said Wojcicki oversees YouTube's content and business operations, engineering, and product development. Prior to joining YouTube in February 2014, Susan was Senior Vice President of Advertising & Commerce at Google, where she oversaw the design and engineering of AdWords, AdSense, DoubleClick, and Google Analytics. She joined Google in 1999 as the company's first marketing manager and led the initial development of several key consumer products including Google Images and Google Books.

Room to Read noted that Craig Bruya is retired from Microsoft Corp., most recently as chief financial officer of Microsoft Business Solutions. Prior to this, he spent 12 years at Microsoft in executive finance positions primarily in Microsoft International. Bruya has been an active member of Room to Read's Board of Directors executive committee and audit committee.
