The report says that Life Technologies has subsidiaries in Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Mexico plus a huge distributor's network segmented by product line (Human Identification, HLA, ABI products, Invitrogen products, etc.), while Illumina have recently opened a subsidiary in Brazil and was the last player to start operations with their own sales and support force in Latin American market. As science and technology spending expands, next-generation systems are expected to show an increase. Most of the Latin American countries but especially Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Chile and Uruguay show a constant and sustained increase of its investment in S&T (News - Alert) as a percentage of GDP. It is consistent with the investment trend and goals defined by governmental and private sectors, the report said.
