Internet users in Montenegro increase 7.7% y/y in Feb 2014 [IntelliNews - Weekly Reports]


(IntelliNews - Weekly Reports Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) The number of broadband connections (including ADSL, WiMAX, WiFi, KDS) in Montenegro grew 7.7% y/y to 91,804 at end-February 2014, recording the same annual increase as in January, the telecoms agency said. In monthly terms, the number of broadband connections inched up 0.5% m/m at end-February, likewise, the same as the month before.



The ADSL connections, which dominated the market (74.7% share), rose 2.6% y/y to 68,549 at end-February. WiMax connections grew 4.5% y/y to 8,135 but their market share inched down to 8.9% from 9.1% a year ago. The market share of WiFi connections in Montenegro also retreated to 3.7% at end-February from 3.9% a year ago.

The total number of prepaid and post-paid users of mobile operators who accessed the Internet climbed 10.3% y/y to 239,908 at end-February, out of them some 62.0% (149,521) used 3G technologies.
