Thailand's PMI declines 4.4% y/y in February [IntelliNews - Weekly Reports]

(IntelliNews - Weekly Reports Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Thailand's manufacturing production index (PMI) declined 4.4% y/y in February this year, recording a contraction for the 11th straight month. According to the Office of Industrial Economics, the country's steel production decelerated 10.89% because of a slowdown in real-estate investment and political concerns during the period, while electronics sector decreased 2.12% due to a decline in the production of hard-disk drives, though demand has increased for semiconductors and monolithic integrated circuits.

The nation's food production increased 9.5% during the period, after drought and communicable diseases among livestock limited supply last month, while the capacity utilisation rate was posted 59.18% during the period.
