Verdantix Survey Ranks The Leading Brands In The Global Environment, Health And Safety Market

NEW YORK --(Business Wire)--

A new global survey conducted by independent analyst firm Verdantix reveals the sixty-four business brands with the highest - and lowest - levels of positive perception with senior decision-makers in environment, health and safety functions. The Verdantix survey is based on interviews with 250 heads of environment, health and safety in 13 major economies across the Americas, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Australia.

In the global market for environment, health and safety assurance and compliance services, Deloitte (News - Alert) leads the pack with 55% of respondents stating they have a positive perception of the brand. Bureau Veritas achieves the second highest level of positive brand perception, followed by KPMG and EY. The top four in this assurance market are followed by a second group of suppliers with moderately high positive brand perception: PwC, SGS, ERM CVS and BSI.

Among the 15 environmental services brands benchmarked in this global survey, ERM achieves the highest level of positive brand perception with 41% of EH&S decision-makers indicating they have been ERM clients or have a positive perception of the firm. On this metric, ENVIRON achieves th second highest positive brand perception globally (39%), followed by CH2M HILL (News - Alert) (35%) and AECOM (33%).

In relation to the implementation of information management systems for EH&S business processes, the 250 interviewees showed the strongest preference to work with technology consultants at IBM (59% positive), HP (50% positive) and Deloitte (50% positive). Accenture, Fujitsu, Hitachi (News - Alert) Consulting and Capgemini also achieved positive brand recognition.

In the software market, 71% of EH&S buyers stated a positive brand perception of Microsoft, 58% for SAP, 54% for IBM (News - Alert) and 51% for Oracle. This reflects the frequent use of database and spreadsheet technologies for EH&S data management. Among specialist suppliers of EH&S software, BSI achieved the highest positive brand perception (30%), followed by IHS (24%), Intelex (22%) and Enablon (21%).

The Verdantix report, 'Global Survey 2014: EH&S Brands', finds that there is huge scope for suppliers in the global EH&S market to improve brand awareness outside their core markets. More than 50% of EH&S assurance, certification and compliance buyers have never heard of DEKRA, Intertek (News - Alert) and TUV SUD. Multi-disciplinary services firms also notch up paltry brand awareness scores: 48% of interviewees had no knowledge of URS Corporation, 52% had not heard of Stantec and 60% had no information about ARCADIS.

To learn more about EH&S market dynamics attend the Verdantix Summit 'Getting Value From EH&S Software And Technologies', to be held on September 30th in Boston.
