BRIEF: County Sheriff's phone system down [Corsicana Daily Sun, Texas :: ](Corsicana Daily Sun (TX) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) March 29--CORSICANA -- As of 7 p.m. Friday, the administrative non-emergency phone lines at the Navarro County Sheriff's Office were not working, Navarro County Sheriff Elmer Tanner said. Technicians and county IT personnel have been working on the county's telephone systems as the county's phone lines are switched over to a new VOIP system. The 9-1-1 Emergency call system is not impacted by the work being done, and remains available to report emergencies. Tanner said he was not told a timeline that service would be restored. Work on switching lines at the Navarro County Courthouse to the new system was scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Monday according to a notice supplied to the Daily Sun. If that work continues on schedule, it is expected to take less than an hour.
