Afghanistan,Uganda : AFGHANISTAN's ROSHAN TELECOM expands into AFRICA [TendersInfo (India)]

(TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) The biggest wireless carrier in Afghanistan is a local company, Roshan Telecom, that has just become multinational.

The company has taken its network to Uganda, Burundi and Tanzania only in March.

Roshan Telecom, which continues to have its base in the Afghan capital, was launched in Kabul in July 2003.

The company's network now spans 60% of the people of Afghanistan.

Giving it the biggest market share of the five wireless carriers in the country, a third of Afghanistan's subscribers are Roshan customers.

The company still has lots of space to expand.
