Walsh College Will Host Free Retail Loss Prevention Training Forum(Targeted News Service Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) TROY, Mich., March 26 -- Walsh College issued the following news release: Retail Loss Prevention: Designing Smart Security Solutions, a free, three-hour training session co-sponsored by Walsh College, the Troy Police Department, Huffmaster Crisis Response, and ASIS Detroit, will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 15, at Walsh College's Troy campus. Participants will learn about services available from local police units and their crime prevention sections; retail-focused "smart" security technology solutions; and the increased value component to loss prevention. The session will also offer insight into new, "virtual security" solutions, including currently available technology and blended security solutions involving both human and digital components. Options discussed will include plainclothes "shoppers," hidden or overt smart cameras, security officers on-foot or on-patrol, technology monitoring, or combinations of these techniques. The event will help store owners, site managers, security or loss prevention specialists know more about available options and how to deploy them in an era of limited budgets and dwindling margins. In addition, there will be a brief presentation on the current state of security convergence. The convergence represents the intersection of security and information technology (IT), the roles in security leadership between IT and traditional security, and the new horizon of security involving blended solutions of analog (human) and digital (smart technology) security.
