Small Businesses Take Center Stage at ACT-IAC Small Business Conference 2014


FAIRFAX, Va. --(Business Wire)--

The American Council for Technology and Industry Advisory Council (ACT-IAC) will host its 8th Annual Small Business Conference (SBC 2014), the premier one-day education and training event focused on small business growth and development in the federal marketplace. General Services Administration Administrator Dan Tangherlini and Deltek's Vice President of Information Solutions Kevin Plexico will deliver the keynote addresses at the event being held April 24, 2014 at the Grand Hyatt Washington in Washington, D.C.

"Government agencies and companies of all sizes recognize the value, benefit and role of small businesses innovation," said Martha Dorris, SBC 2014 government chair. "With over 100 speakers from government agencies, SBC 2014 is a highly interactive, informative and exciting atmosphere fully focused on small businesses in the government ecosystem."

Since 2007, SBC is the unrivaled forum for new and established small and large businesses to come together to further align with the needs of government agencies. For the first time in SBC history, ACT-IAC (News - Alert) will present two mall Business Advocacy Awards to a government and industry individual who has made a significant impact in promoting the growth and development of small businesses.

  • Smackdown Session - In its third year, this high-energy, open and lively discussion is focused on creating practical solutions for optimizing existing roles/relationships with government entities.
  • Breakout Sessions- These sessions are designed to tackle some of the most significant issues relative to small businesses in the federal market such as the impact of the latest administration policies, challenges and opportunities of strategic sourcing and certifications needed to work alongside federal agencies.
  • Federal Workshops - Senior government stakeholders will present specific objectives they are looking to accomplish and how small business can help achieve these goals.
