Director of Strategic Communications Named at WWU


(Targeted News Service Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) FULTON, Mo., March 24 -- William Woods University issued the following news release: Crystal Aulbur has joined William Woods University as director of strategic communications in the Marketing and University Relations office.



In this role, she will manage all aspects of marketing and communications to include advertising, branding, promotion and public relations for the university.

"While all our marketing and public relations efforts are significant, William Woods is clearly interested in expanding its presence in the competitive areas of evening and online student recruitment," Dan Diedriech, vice president of university advancement, said.


"Crystal brings a wealth of knowledge in these areas and has particular expertise in the area of data collection and analysis." Aulbur worked in the marketing department at Columbia College in Columbia, Mo., for the last three years, most recently as manager of marketing strategy. Before that, she spent three years as development coordinator at Columbia Independent School.

She has additional experience in advancement communications at the University of Missouri as coordinator of external affairs for the School of Medicine and development assistant for the College of Education.

"It was important to me to continue my career in higher education marketing, and William Woods University is the perfect fit for me personally and professionally in terms of the institution's objectives to better communicate the institution's brand and develop a synergistic marketing campaign," Aulbur said.

"The higher education market is extremely competitive, and it is critical to use the data and tools available to us to market more effectively to prospective students with our limited resources." A Missouri native and current resident of Millersburg, Aulbur is a 2002 graduate of Columbia College where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with dual majors in marketing and management.

She is a member of the American Marketing Association and the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE). She also chairs the Millersburg Preschool fundraising committee.

Previously, Aulbur was a volunteer member and team co-captain for the March of Dimes WalkAmerica Revenue Committee, Mid-America Division; co-chair of the volunteer committee and co-chair of the visual arts committee for the Columbia Festival of the Arts Steering Committee.
