Business leaders: Erickson joins Hospice of Michigan; MIPRO hires Rayburn [Detroit Free Press :: ](Detroit Free Press (MI) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) March 23--Stephanie Erickson has joined Hospice of Michigan as a sales representative for Grand Rapids and the Lakeshore. She is part of a statewide team responsible for all marketing activities in the Lower Peninsula. She has more than 10 years of experience in hospice care and nursing homes, most recently serving as manager of business development at Heartland Homecare Hospice & Home in Grand Rapids. Todd Rayburn was hired by MIPRO Consulting in Milford as human capital management practice manager. He provides day-to-day oversight and management of project consultants. He has more than 15 years of information technology and consulting experience. Most recently, he served as senior consultant of Oracle Cloud HCM applications for Emtec. He received a bachelor's degree from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Ill. --Alejandro Nieto joined LLamasoft in Ann Arbor as senior vice president of international sales. He previously held executive sales and operations positions at JDA, Infor, EXE Technologies and Prologis Trust. Southfield-based Vesco Oil was awarded national certification as a Women's Business Enterprise by the Women's Business Enterprise National Council. The WBENC's certification is accepted by more than 1,000 corporations and serves as a resource for thousands of U.S. companies and government agencies that rely on its certification as an integral part of their supplier diversity programs. Crossroads of Michigan, a Detroit-based nonprofit social services outreach agency, has elected three new members to its Board of Trustees. They are Daimeon Cotton of Williams Acosta, Mary Fellows of Chrysler and Manuela Zarate of SER Metro Detroit. In addition, Lisa Fitzpatrick of Comerica Bank and Glenn Kushiner of Conway MacKenzie are the incoming board president and vice president, respectively. Winning Futures, a school-based mentoring program, presented its Business Man and Woman of the Year Awards to Paul Glantz and Marcie Brogan. Glantz is the founder and chair of Emagine Entertainment. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan, is a member of the Wayne State University Foundation, chairman of the Wayne State University Foundation Investment Committee Board, and treasurer of the Detroit Chapter of Variety International. Brogan is founder and chair of Brogan & Partners, an advertising firm headquartered in Birmingham with a branch in North Carolina. She has been active on civic and professional boards, including the Nature Conservancy, the Eli Broad School of Management at Michigan State University, Detroit Regional Chamber and Adcraft Club. Oakwood Common Retirement Community received Connolly's Service of Excellence Award, presented annually to the Oakwood Healthcare division that is recognized for service excellence, based on customer feedback. The award is named in honor of President and CEO Brian Connolly. David Pierce, the executive director of global development at Evans Distribution Systems, was appointed president of the Transportation Club of Detroit. He also is the executive chairman for the Ergin Osman Memorial Scholarship Fund, which provides financial support for disabled U.S. military veterans. James Housler joined Telemus Capital, an independent firm for investment and asset management in Southfield, to be a partner and senior adviser. Previously he was a vice president and banker with JP Morgan Private Bank in Ann Arbor and vice president and private banking adviser at PNC Bank in Lansing. He earned his bachelor's degree in business administration and finance from Michigan State University's Eli Broad College of Business. Christopher Astfalk has joined law firm Fabrizio & Brook in Troy. He brings 20 years of litigation experience to the firm, with more than 10 years specializing in the mortgage default industry. He earned his undergraduate degree from Michigan State University and his law degree from Detroit College of Law. Children's Hospital of Michigan has appointed the following doctors to its medical staff: Aparna Joshi, Ahmed Bazzi, Doris Taha, Henry Walters III, Hazim Zaghloul, Abilash Haridas, Mitchell Williams. Joshi was named chief of pediatric imaging. She is board certified in pediatric radiology. Bazzi joined the department of pediatric orthopedic surgery and specializes in congenital pseudoarthrosis and open fractures. Taha, a pediatric endocrinologist, specializes in the treatment of children and adolescents with diabetes. Walters, chief of the department of cardiovascular surgery, was appointed associate editor for Surgery for Cardiology in the Young by the Press Syndicate. Zaghloul joined the department of pediatric gastroenterology. Haridas, a pediatric neurosurgeon, has clinical interests in pediatric cerebrovascular diseases, vascular malformations, aneurysms, stroke, and critical care. Williams is in the department of pediatric neurology and neuroimmunology. Jim Yetter was appointed chief marketing officer at J.R. Thompson, Farmington Hills communications firm. Yetter served as a consultant to JRT starting in 2010, following a 22-year career at Chrysler Group. Yetter has a master's degree in marketing from Michigan State University. Scott Petree has been named IT consulting manager at Plante Moran in Southfield, and David Womack has been named as consulting manager in the same firm. Prior to joining Plante Moran, Petree was a senior manager at Deloitte. He received his bachelor of arts degree in mathematics from Grand Valley State University and has a bachelor of business administration degree in accounting information systems from Eastern Michigan University. Before joining the firm, Womack was the operations value stream manager at Physio-control in Redmond, Wash. He received his bachelor of science degree in psychology from Eastern Michigan University and has a master of business administration degree in strategic management from Regis University. Anne Lawter has joined the firm of Giarmarco, Mullins & Horton in Troy. Lawter works in equine activity law. She is a licensed judge for the U.S. Equestrian Federation and was a member of the Michigan State Board of Veterinary Medicine. She received her law degree from the Thomas M. Cooley School of Law and her bachelor's degree in social science from the University of Michigan-Flint. Michelle Martin of Grosse Pointe Woods was named director of marketing and communications for University Liggett School. She joined Liggett from Wayne State University, where she spent 10 years as the editor and senior communications officer for alumni relations. She received a master's degree in English from Oakland University and a bachelor's degree in journalism from Wayne State University. Gary Cowger, former group vice president of General Motors global manufacturing, was hired as a consultant by engineering and architecture firm Ghafari Associates in Dearborn. Cowger, who operates a management consultancy practice, spent 44 years with GM in various leadership roles, including president of GM North America.
