United Kingdom : IT contract with Liverpool John Lennon Airport gained by ANS [TendersInfo (India)]

(TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Technology firm ANS group has gained a 3 year contract with Liverpool John Lennon Airport.

The new contract will witness Manchester-based ANS Group design and execute a managed infrastructure service with disaster recovery, which will comprise establishing a secondary data centre site.

As the airport has developed its internal systems have increased in complexity, and a more robust infrastructure was needed.

The deal is the most recent in a string of new contracts for Manchester-based ANS. The business has seen consistent growth in its managed services division, supporting De Vere Group, Salford City Council and Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, and was named the number one provider of FlexPod customer projects in Europe.

Paul Sweeney, managing director of ANS, said: Airports by their nature require well managed and resilient IT systems with high availability and business continuity.

Liverpool Airport s managed infrastructure service will reduce operational costs and, most importantly, protect critical business systems - essential for a growing, international airport.

Working with a large name like Liverpool John Lennon Airport is a further achievement for our business as we look to grow and maintain our place as one of the best in the sector.

John Fazakerley, IT and telecoms manager at Liverpool John Lennon Airport, said: An increasing number of operations rely on robust IT provision, so maximising uptime is crucial for the day-to-day running of Liverpool John Lennon.

By unifying our server estate from a number of disparate servers to a single solution it s easier for us to spot and solve any issues. The consolidation has already increased operational efficiency for our IT team, and will help deliver improved energy efficiency for the airport.

With the new infrastructure we can be safe in the knowledge that our IT is fit for purpose as the number of carriers we partner with grows.
