Australia : HONEYWELL gets AUSTRALIAN shipping industry using INTERMEC by HONEYWELL scanners [TendersInfo (India)](TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Honeywell has got the Australian shipping sector using Intermec by the company scanners for tracking containers in real time and decreasing errors in data capture. Country manager for Honeywell Scanning & Mobility, ANZ, Tony Repaci, said : 'Shipping companies manage thousands of containers every week and it is mandatory that they track the location of each and every container. A common practice each evening following the closure of the port is for the company to send out walkers throughout its yard to manually record on paper each container s number and location.' He added : 'Locally, we have adapted our software imaging solution to be able to successfully capture the horizontal identification codes and numbers found on containers and digitally convert them using a Honeywell rugged vehicle-mounted computer a first in the shipping industry.
