Thank Goodness It's Spring, PECO Invites Customers to Say "TGIS"!


PHILADELPHIA --(Business Wire)--

As the first day of spring arrives, PECO (News - Alert) and our customers say an enthusiastic goodbye to one of the worst winters in our region's history. All of PECO's 2,400 employees thank customers for weathering the winter with us. All week long customers can celebrate spring by following PECO on Twitter and Facebook with the hashtag #TGIS for spring safety and energy efficiency tips, and information on community and environmental activities.

All year long, PECO remains committed to safely keeping the lights on and gas flowing for customers. More than $500 million is invested each year to enhance electric and natural gas systems. This includes regular inspection of equipment, targeted system enhancements, corrective maintenance, and comprehensive vegetation management to ensur continued service for customers.



These investments resulted in record-breaking electric and natural gas reliability performance in 2013, with customers experiencing the fewest number of outages in the company's history, surpassing previous records set in 2012.

Chester County:

  • Kennett Township: Kennett High School - April 2: 7 p.m. - 9 p.m.
  • Valley Forge: Valley Forge Elementary - April 22: 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Montgomery County:

  • Lower Merion Township: Harriton High School - March 25: 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.
  • Lower Merion Township: Lower Merion High School - March 27: 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.
  • Horsham Township: Horsham Community Center - April 3: 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.

York County:

  • Delta Borough: Peach Bottom Recreation Center - April 16: 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.

PECO employees will be on hand to speak with residents and provide helpful information regarding the local electric system, how the company prepares for and responds to a storm, ways to stay safe, and answer any questions customers may have.
