2014 ADEA/Sigma Phi Alpha Linda DeVore Scholarship Presented to Kimberly Bray


SAN ANTONIO --(Business Wire)--

The 2014 The ADEA/Sigma Phi Alpha Linda DeVore Scholarship was presented to Professor Kimberly Bray, RDH, M.S., of the University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Dentistry during the 2014 ADEA Annual Session & Exhibition, held March 15-18 in San Antonio. The $1,000 scholarship is awarded to an individual pursuing allied dental education studies at the baccalaureate, master's or doctoral degree level.

"As the Director of the Division of Dental Hygiene at University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Dentistry, Professor Bray exemplifies the caliber of leader we seek to recognize with this scholarship," says Stephen K. Young, D.D.S., M.S., Chair of the ADEA Board of Directors. "With the support of Sigma Phi Alpha, ADEA is able to honor the achievements of Professor Bray, and we are pleased to support her ongoing commitment to excellence in leadership in dental education."

The scholarship memorializes the 30-year dental education career of Linda Rubinstein DeVore. Prof. DeVore was active in dental hygiene education, scholarship and public service. She served as President of the American Association of Dental Schools (now ADEA) in 1994 and as the 1997-98 President of the Supreme Chapter of Sigma Phi Alpha, the national honorary society of the dental hygiene profesion.
