Helping to Meet the Growing Demand for SDN and NFV-based Solutions, IneoQuest Joins the Intel Network Builders Program

(ENP Newswire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ENP Newswire - 20 March 2014 Release date- 19032014 - Home Blog Helping to Meet the Growing Demand for SDN and NFV-based Solutions, IneoQuest Joins the Intel Network Builders Program Helping to Meet the Growing Demand for SDN and NFV-based Solutions, IneoQuest Joins the Intel Network Builders Program By Kirk George, Director of Marketing, IneoQuest Technologies Service providers - cable, telco, and satellite - are starting to look at software defined networks (SDNs) and the network functions virtualization (NFV) concept to help them build-out new networks to support the consumers viewing behavior without incurring high capital and operational costs.

NFV is new concept aimed at reducing the hardware, power, and space requirements to deploy network functions, which lowers the overall cost and provisioning times. Separating network functions from hardware has many benefits for the service providers, such as reduced network maintenance costs, easier network upgrades, longer life cycles for network hardware and reduced maintenance and hardware costs.

And, as IneoQuest has recently stated, 'SDN and NFV offer potential advantages far more immediate and tangible than more efficient networks. Real world gains can be realized in footprint reduction, more efficient manpower deployments and greater speed to market.' According to a study by Dialogic, an overwhelming majority of 80% of service providers plan to leverage NFV in 2014. The top benefits of NFV were seen as relating to CAPEX and OPEX, with 70 percent of respondents believing they could be more operationally efficient with NFV and 67 percent indicating it is a better way to invest capital.

In order to meet the growing demand for SDN and NFV-based solutions in the Communications Infrastructure market, Intel created a cross-industry initiative, the Intel Network Builders program, with the goal of making it easier to build, enhance and operate software-defined network (SDN)- and network function virtualization (NFV)-based infrastructure. Focused on the Communications Infrastructure market, this initiative was launched at the 2013 Intel Developers Forum (IDF) in September 2013. The Intel Network Builders program brings together world-class industry leaders to develop solutions based on software-defined networks (SDN) and network function virtualization (NFV) infrastructures, to reduce CAPEX and OPEX.

As recently announced, IneoQuest was invited an inaugural member of the Intel Network Builders program. Participating in the Intel Network Builders program will enable IneoQuest to further grow awareness of the benefits of its video analytics and service assurance solution for adaptive bitrate streaming (ABR) video environments.

With service providers looking to support Network Functions Virtualization (NFV), IneoQuest takes advantage of Intel's reference architecture platforms to deploy our probing technology in the Mobile network to monitor and analyze video services, adaptive streaming protocols and networks, simplifying operational complexities and improving the viewer experience. Deploying our virtualized probing technology allows operators to reduce IT support, CAPEX and OPEX while providing a better understanding of their video services and guaranteeing a quality viewing experience.

We are truly honored to have been invited to join the Intel Network Builders program. As SDN and NFV technology is creating more business opportunities in the telecom space, we look forward to collaborating with other leaders in the Communications Infrastructure market to develop advanced SDN and NFV solutions for service providers.
