14 Members Elected to COMPTEL Board of Directors(Targeted News Service Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) LAS VEGAS, March 18 -- The Competitive Telecommunications Association issued the following news release: Members of COMPTEL, the leading trade association for the competitive communications industry, yesterday elected 14 companies to serve on the COMPTEL Board of Directors for the 2014-2016 term during the annual membership meeting at the COMPTEL PLUS Spring 2014 Convention & EXPO. These newly elected board members join the others who are currently serving their 2013-2015 terms. Today, at its first meeting with the newly elected directors, the Board selected Deb Ward, CEO of TSI, as its chairwoman. Chris Murray, senior vice president of Public Policy at EarthLink, was selected as vice chairman; and Jim Butman, group president at TDS, was re-elected as the association's treasurer. Rounding out the Executive Committee are four at-large members, including Robert Beaty, president of Impact Telecom; Dale R. Schmick, former COMPTEL Chairman and COO of YourTel America Inc.; Julia Strow, co-founder of Cbeyond Inc.; and Ben Vos, vice president of Business Operations for Sprint Wholesale & Emerging Solutions. "I am honored to be selected by my peers on the board to serve as the first chairwoman of COMPTEL," said Ward. "Looking ahead, I see great opportunities for the association to create even more value for our members.
