Colt Technology Services Deploys Radisys' Integrated Conferencing Solution for Service Expansion and Growth in Europe

(M2 PressWIRE Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) HILLSBORO, OR, US-- Radisys(r) Corporation (NASDAQ: RSYS), a market leader enabling wireless infrastructure solutions, today announced that Colt Technology Services (London Stock Exchange: COLT) has deployed Radisys' Integrated Conferencing Solution, comprised of its SIPware(tm) Conferencing Application Software and CMS-9000 Media Resource Function (MRF). The Radisys solution provides the foundation for Colt to offer Colt Audio Conferencing and Cisco Webex(tm) services to customers throughout Europe.

Many conferencing service providers (CSPs) are still delivering hosted conferencing based on legacy audio bridge equipment with trunk circuits to the network. In today's competitive marketplace, these single-service proprietary platforms are expensive to operate which squeezes profitability, while lacking integration flexibility. Colt took a different approach, purchasing a modern conferencing platform solution from Radisys. Radisys' Integrated Conferencing Solution is based on the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) architecture, allowing native support of any VoIP endpoint, yet allows conference participants using traditional phones connected to the PSTN to interconnect with the Radisys Integrated Conferencing Solution using gateway equipment in the Colt network. The result is a conferencing solution delivering crystal-clear, High Definition (HD) capable audio conferencing services for both VoIP and TDM endpoints and devices. Improved economics are achieved by using a pure IP-based services platform, with SIP trunking through fiber connections with existing customer locations. The solution also adds important flexibilities including web-based customer self-service portals, and seamless integration with desktop productivity tools.

"Conferencing and collaboration continue to grow in importance and usage with our business customers. This growth led to our search for an economic and flexible platform to continue expanding our business, and Radisys' solution met all of our requirements," said Luke Broome, chief technology officer, Colt Technology Services. "We are confident that Radisys' Integrated Conferencing Solution will drive 'minutes of use' growth while delivering operational savings." As part of the solution, Colt is leveraging Radisys' SIPware Reservationless Conferencing Release 4.4 features including easy-to-use self-service portals, Cisco WebEx(tm) integration for web conferencing, along with Microsoft Outlook(tm) integration for simplified scheduling, leading to increased service consumption and revenues.

"Radisys is pleased to be selected for Colt's next-generation conferencing platform, and to see the deployment of our SIPware Reservationless Conferencing Release 4.4 to help Colt pursue new growth opportunities with a flexible solution to meet their customers' needs," said Grant Henderson, vice president, marketing and product management, Radisys. "Our Integrated Conferencing Solution offers superior economics and flexibility compared to any hosted carrier-class audio conferencing solution on the market, and comes with the added bonus of an IMS migration path to video conferencing services on the same platform." About Radisys' Integrated Conferencing Solution Radisys' SIPware Reservationless Conferencing Release 4.4 software serves as the Application Server for VoIP and video collaboration services. SIPware comes pre-integrated with Radisys' IMS MRFs, offering a complete turnkey revenue-generating solution for CSPs and mobile operators. Radisys' conferencing solution provides many benefits to CSPs looking to drive down costs and introduce new capabilities, while managing growth.

SIPware Reservationless Conferencing Release 4.4 benefits include: * Providing an improved web-based API designed for self-service portals, allowing end users to manage accounts and easily consume conferencing services though a web interface, while lowering customer care OPEX costs for the operator * Allowing portal branding and localization, enabling CSPs to personalize conferencing services to end customers or resellers, including customizable banners and color schemes * Supporting Microsoft Outlook integration and plug-ins, making it easy for end users to schedule conference calls through Outlook's calendar interface, and thereby consume conferencing minutes * Enabling multi-tenancy; this scalable solution supports and securely separates the data for hundreds of customers on the same platform * Delivering an improved service creation environment; this unique capability allows CSPs maximum flexibility to customize call flows, IVR interactions and customize menu prompts and sequences in multiple language Radisys' Integrated Conferencing Solution supports SIP trunking interconnection with network providers and enterprise customers, offering significant OPEX savings and interoperability benefits. Its multi-node geographically distributed architecture, along with hardware-level redundancy, delivers superior resiliency to achieve 'five-nines' availability. In addition, the solution supports HD voice codecs and automatic transcoding, as well as Voice Quality Enhancement including echo cancellation, noise reduction and packet loss concealment to provide superior VoIP audio quality for an improved conferencing experience.
