Hertz Names Rafael Girona as Managing Director for Hertz Germany [Manufacturing Close - Up]


(Manufacturing Close - Up Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) The Hertz Corp. announced the appointment of Rafael Girona as Managing Director for Hertz Germany.

The Company said Girona is based in Eschborn, near Frankfurt, Germany, and reports to Michel Taride, Group President, Hertz International.

In a release, Hertz said that Elyes Mrad who has been serving as interim Managing Director will continue in his position as Vice President for Sales and Marketing, Hertz International.

Girona comes to Hertz bringing more than 26 years of experience in the car rental industry. Since 2001 he has served as a Group Chief Operating Officer for Europcar, where he led several acquisitions, Joint Ventures, partnerships and transformational projects. Prior to 2001, he served in a number of operating roles in various countries.




Taride said: "Germany is the largest car rental market in Europe. Rafael's proven leadership skills, vast experience and profound understanding of the car rental business and travel industry will be invaluable as we continue to develop our operations in the country." The Hertz Corp. operates its car rental business through Hertz, an airport general use car rental brand, and its Dollar, Thrifty and Firefly brands from over 11,500 corporate, franchisee, and licensee locations in approximately 145 countries in North America, Latin America, Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
