Yusry is honorary secretary of CRM [New Straits Time (Malaysia)]

(New Straits Time (Malaysia) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) KUALA LUMPUR: Yusry Abu Samah, 45, was recently elected honorary secretary of Commercial Radio Malaysia (CRM), following the recent passing of Bakhtiar Arshad.

The 23-year veteran of the radio broadcasting industry started his career as a Broadcast Engineer in RTM. He was part of the pioneer team involved in Malaysia's first fully digital radio station called Radio Rediffusion, now known as StarRFM.

The University Technology Malaysia graduate was directly involved in setting up IKIM FM as broadcast operations manager. Yusri was also the founder of Suria FM.

"Yusri's vast experience, passion, commitment and dedication have helped the radio industry prosper and expand steadily over the years," notes CRM president Kudsia Kahar.

"We look forward to his continuing contribution and service as we move forward to our next phase of development and growth for CRM." Yusri currently serves as chief executive of Suara Johor Sdn Bhd, which owns and operates Best 104, Malaysia's first private radio station, from its studio in Istana Pelangi in Johor Baru.
