Wyoming Business Council Board Appoints CEO Search Committee


(Targeted News Service Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) CHEYENNE, Wyo., March 14 -- The Wyoming Business Council issued the following news release: The Wyoming Business Council Board of Directors on Friday named a five-member hiring committee that will spearhead the agency's search for a new chief executive officer.



Board Co-Chairman Rex Lewis, of Cheyenne, said the council will conduct a national search to replace outgoing CEO Bob Jensen, who is scheduled to resign on March 28.

The hiring committee is comprised of Lewis and former Co-Chairman Nathan Bekke, of Casper; and board members Mike Wandler, of Gillette; Lynne Michelena, of Buffalo; and Jim Espy of Savery.


Lewis said the committee will soon draft a job description, then open the application process. The job will be posted on the Business Council's website (wyomingbusiness.org) in addition to job sites to be determined.

Lewis said the three to five finalists' names will be made public. He estimated the hiring process will take 60 to 90 days.

Also on Friday, the board appointed Business Council Chief Operating Officer Mark Willis to serve as interim chief executive officer beginning March 31.

Jensen is stepping down to spend more time with his wife, who has multiple sclerosis. He will work in the private sector. Jensen started working for the Business Council in 2004 and was named CEO in 2007.

The mission of the Business Council is to facilitate the economic growth of Wyoming.
