Country's progress in IT sector building its positive image: Latif


(United News of Bangladesh Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Abdul Latif Siddiqui on Thursday said the country’s progress is Information Technology (T) sector is creating its positive image worldwide.



“Bangladesh has achieved tremendous success in IT sector which has created country’s positive image worldwide”, the Minister said this while speaking at the closing function of training of trainers (TOT) course on international standardized Information Technology Engineers Examination (ITEE) at National Academy of Educational Management (NAEM).

The Minister underscored the need for giving international recognition to the local IT professionals so that they can get access to the international market.


“Bangladesh It professionals have the capacity to conquer the world. We just need to provide them proper guidance and training,” he said.

The ITEE, presently mutual recognized by 12 Asian countries, is basically a national standardized examination of Japan for IT professionals.

The Minister said the ITEE will help to give world standard competitiveness to Bangladesh IT professionals that opens door of international job market to them.

Executive Director of Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) S M Ashfaque Hussain, Chairman of Computer Science and Engineering Department of BUET Professor Dr Mohammad Mahfuzul Islam, Representative of JICA Bangladesh Office Tsuyoshi Kanao, among others, addressed it held with Additional Secretary of ICT Division Kamal Uddin Ahmed in the chair.
