Capella University, an Accredited Online University, to Hold Its 26th Commencement Ceremony in NashvilleMINNEAPOLIS --(Business Wire)-- Capella University (http://www.capella.edu), a regionally accredited online university* that offers online degree programs designed to help working adults advance in their careers, will host their 26th commencement in Nashville on March 15th. Capella's commencement will be held at the Music City Center, which will be the first commencement held at the venue. This will be Capella's largest commencement, with more than 1200 graduates planning to attend. Including the United States, six countries will be represented, and 47 states and 5 territories/military addresses will make up the U.S. attendance. Addressing the graduates will be veteran political strategist Donna Brazile, an adjunct professor, author, syndicated columnist, and television political commentator. Brazile's passion is encouraging young people to vote, to work within the system to strengthen it, and to run for public office. Brazile worked on every presidential campaign from 1976 through 2000, when she became the first African-American to manage a presidential campaign. She is also currently on the board of the National Democratic Institute (NDI), the National Institute for Civil Discourse, the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies, and the BlackAmericaWeb.com Relief Fund, Inc. "Capella's commencement is a powerful event. We are very proud of our learners who, as busy working adults, have sacrificed greatly to achieve this major career and personal milestone. These graduates exemplify dedication, persistence and tenacity, and I admire every one of them. On behalf of all of us at Caella, I would like to extend heartfelt congratulations to our 2014 graduates," Scott Kinney, Capella University (News - Alert) president, said. Capella will provide live and archived webcasts of the ceremony (www.capella.edu/watchcommencement) for graduates, family and friends who are unable to attend in person. Capella holds commencement ceremonies twice each year: in Minneapolis each August, and in another major U.S. city each February or March. There are two ceremonies for the commencement event. The first ceremony is at 10 a.m. CDT (News - Alert) for the School of Business and Technology, School of Education and the School of Undergraduate Studies. The second ceremony is at 2:30 p.m. CDT for the Harold Abel School of Social and Behavioral Sciences and the School of Public Service Leadership.
